Community Based Consulting was founded to support community-led organizations worldwide, empowering them to achieve their mission of creating a more just world. Many of these organizations lack the resources to build their capacity and realize their vision, leading to overworked staff and limited resources for programs, fundraising, and marketing. Our vision is to provide essential support to our organizational partners in community development, catalyzing the changes needed to take them from startup to scale-up.

Community Based Consulting was established by Monique Vanden’Aklie, driven by a realization about the limited job market options that typically steer professionals towards established organizations. Opting to follow her heart, Monique recognized the significant contribution of community-based organizations in shouldering the development burden. She is passionate about extending support not only to large NGOs but also to smaller grassroots nonprofits, where dedication to community service often outweighs available resources.
